The wife wants an iPad for her birthday. Just wondering if the retina display is worth the extra money?
While some of it is truly just marketing terminology for a PPI count (pixel density/resolution measurement), yes I do believe it's worth it. My wife bought one a few months ago, and the greater density does render graphics and for some, more importantly, text, as well as edges much smoother (think of old school curved pixel graphics vs. a more smother curve).
