I want to enjoy myself. Thats first and foremost. I hope to kill a nice buck. 120-130? I hope to kill at least 2 does. I hope to get drawn at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. I hope to be with my wife when she kills her first deer. but I WANT to enjoy myself.

    Good topic Duke.

Honestly, this year, what I want most is to call in a bull for my dad to shoot with his bow. Then go down the road and help him fill his moose tag. I'm going to Wyoming with him regardless of whether or not I draw a mule deer tag. That's what I want most.

    My "want" list is this:

    1. I want to kill a mature deer in 3 states or as many states as I can draw tags (OK, KS/OH, WY).
    2. I want to fill all 6 deer tags in Oklahoma.
    3. I know a 14 yr old kid that I want to help kill his first deer.
    4. I want to hunt one deer and kill that deer.

I want to kill a buck better than 110ish. Which would also be my first buck with a bow. I have had opportunities at smaller bucks, it just isn't where I am at right now. I'd also like to do this on film, but that is not a deal killer. I have also missed pretty hard on a good one last year, redemption would be sweet.

In addition to that I want three more bow kills on film (for myself) but before that I want:
1.Four bowkills of any kind of doe (buck, doe, button) taken by four true blood brothers that haven't had "that" feeling of shooting your first deer with a bow. I would also love to be there with a camera in hand.

2.A doe from my new property and not just any doe, the one that I have been after and should have just Ot 6'd last year. She is a busting maniac.

3.Another TWild Outfitters - York doe (she tasted great)

4.A doe from the mountain land.

If all of this happens in a season that I know I will have limited time, I will be unbelievably thrilled. I have been working at better plots and spots to make this possible.

    Personally,
    1. Get my son (9) his first buck. We passed over 7 bucks last year because they were not mature (his choice), he wants his first buck to be larger than my first buck. I shot a good 8 point for my first buck.
    2. I want to capture 4 kills on video, whether they are of me, family or friends I do not care, but that is my minimum GOAL.
    3. To take 3 mature Bucks, something I have not been able to accomplish yet.
    4. Shoot more than the 6 I killed last year.
    5. Many more but I might bore you all.

After reading all of your goals I'm kinda feeling bad for most of you, I really hope you just typed what came to your mind and not what is in your hearts, if not many of you are wasting your time.

I think that may only be the case if their success is measured by the accomplishment of their goals. I know for me, I don't have to accomplish my goals to A.) have fun, and B.) be successful.

The majority of the experience I take out of the woods doesn't come from dragging an animal out.

    I only have two goals;

To push myself harder than I did last year; to work harder for my animal.

To meet a good [online] friend and make some killer memories.

(Oh, and maybe kill a bear on film in MN.)

I get all the Fiber I need from beer.

Just seems to me way to many people are using deer as score cards, I respect and appreciate hunting them to look at them as justs objects to target practice on.

Personally I set goals as maybe motivation I guess. I'd love to outsmart a big one every year but I think it's the years that I don't that makes the years that I do all that much better. The bottom line is I just love to hunt so I guess my main goal is just to get out there. BTW do you have any extra cold "fiber"?

How about not deserting your TEAM former teammate, and enter your buck in the contest when you kill one. :whip:

We weren't the ones who you got in a pissing match with!! You'll have a hard time making online friends if you treat them all like that.

If you really want to get into that, take it to PM. There was more going on there than you are aware of.

But whatever. I quit HNI because of it and figured it would end there. Thanks for dragging it over here.

Glad to see things haven't changed despite the change in venue.
