the more i read the more im confused, ive read some hunters say to use like 200+ grain heads/weights upfront for their big game stuff and others claim that a lower foc is needed to penetrate big bad hide from hogs/buffalo/ ect...

then i come across those who say " well i use 125g broadheads so i SHOULD have enough FOC " which makes me believe majority of people are confused about foc relationship to arrows.

would anyone like to shed light for me ? i havent checked the foc on my new arrows but ill do that in a min.

Yes, FOC is important. Bruce's signature is exactly why FOC is important...

Not that you did anything wrong but I would recheck the measuring and the math. That doesn't sound quite right.

The easiest way is to increase the tip weight but you will need to be careful in how much you increase it as it may affect your dynamic spine and that will affect your bow and arrow tune.

I shoot 100 grain broadheads an I shoot Easton carbon excel 400 8.6gpi so think a 125 grain broadheads would be a safe bet?

Yes, they would probably be OK unless you are borderline on spine. Buy some 125 grain field points and shoot them with some arrows with the 100 grain and see how they all group. Depending of the feedback from the groupings you can either make adjustments if needed.

I was at 9%. I add weight to the back of my inserts.
You can go up in your braodhead weight or use heavier inserts. With the Gold Tips I just added the weights to the inserts frome the nock end with their long allen wrench.

Like Bruce said, be careful of your spine. I went up in tip weight with a 400 spine and couldn't get my bow to tune. Had to go to a 340 spine to get it to tune. Good thing is, my whole arrow weight went up. I'm now around 13% FOC. Shoots like a dart!
