Im not aware of a policy one way or the other. Considering I work in a machine shop and have worked on guns in the shop for customers and co workers, I am going to assume they are allowed.:D Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
It is not spoken of in any of our policies. I asked and the plant manager stated if they can't see it they can't reinforce any rules that don't exist.
Honestly sometimes we are almost required to bring guns to work...Sept thru March I usually have one of the rifles, two shotguns and a pistol in the truck, usually along with a bow or xbow. Always have a shotgun in the truck at the minimum, no matter what time of year.
I wish I could carry at work, but there's not much room for a holster under a harness and tool belt. Guess I have to rely on my framing hammer if need be.
I always have a my .223 for the coyotes while out building fence and loading cattle. My .45 is always under the seat, unless its on me while walking through the woods. I can't have any guns in my truck while on KSU owned property, so I park just off campus
Look how far we've come. When I was in college, I had my Browning light 12 guage in my dorm room. So did my roommate. Ruffed grouse hunting was great not too far from college. We'd take off on a Saturday AM, walk out of the dorm with our shotguns and ammo going hunting. We had a college friends mom who livedd in town that would cook them for us. Then we moved into an off campus house. We were in the top floor. The bottom floor of the house was occupied by the owner. He was also the chief of police for the town of Fredonia, NY where I went to school... a school of the State University System. He got us into some great hunting on property owned by a bunch of policeman. Today we'd be shot on site or locked up as dangerous. Yup, the chief didn't care if I had a shotgun upstairs.... but he dang sure frowned on me bringing my girl friend upstairs. In fact..... he didn't frown.... he FORBID IT when he caught me trying it. LOL There were 6 of us that lived upstair in the chiefs house, 3 bedrooms. We had our own kitchen then and cooked meals. It was cool times to beable to shoot a partridge and cook him for dinner and not have to take them to a friends mom to cook..
@Siman I work on a Air Force Base as a civilian. They would lock down the base so fast if anyone beside the SF (Military police) carried.
Actually I am pretty certain you can have it in your vehicle and be within the Law. http://ag.ks.gov/docs/documents/concealed-carry-faqs.pdf There are statues in place to specifically prevent business from doing this. Postings are only applicable to "buildings", not vehicles Can I, as a Licensee, store a loaded handgun in my vehicle should I need to enter a property that is posted with the “no concealed carry” sign? Answer: Yes. There is no state law against having loaded firearms in an unoccupied vehicle and in 2007 the “firearm transportation law” (K.S.A. 12- 16,124) was amended so that the local ordinances and resolutions regarding transportation of firearms do not apply to concealed carry Licensees. Note: It is highly recommended not to leave a loaded handgun unattended in a vehicle for an extended period of time. It is always best to store the handgun unloaded and preferably in a lockable container. If still in doubt this will for certain cover you. How can I legally transport a firearm in my vehicle anywhere in Kansas? o Answer: K.S.A. 12-16,124(d) provides that “no person shall be prosecuted under any ordinance, resolution or regulation for transporting a firearm in any air, land or water vehicle if the firearm is unloaded and encased in a container which completely encloses the firearm.” Again, concealed carry licensees are not subject to local ordinances or resolutions regarding the manner of transporting a loaded firearm.
I'm not that old & I could legally have my deer rifle on campus when I was in college. We had to give it to security to lock up & store, but going to & from the office I had it slung over my shoulder.
So you could have guns but not sex? Weird how society has changed... Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Yep for my place of employment. In fact it was the boss who suggested and pushed for me to get my CC permit when he got his. I think he actually pushed harder for me to carry while working then the wife did for hunting. The boss found us a real good deal on some slightly used police issued S&W ACP 45s one year. He gave me a new Remington 7400 270 for a bonus one year. A bow one year for Xmas gift. Last year he knew I was thinking of trading off the 45 for a glock 40 and gave me $800 in Cabelas gift certificates so I would keep the 45, buy the 40 and stock up on ammo for both. He was just commenting a week ago we should get a couple AR-15s with the way things are going plus shooting some yotes with them. He already has one and an AK-47. Says you can never have enough of them. Tim
On campus it is allowed in your vehicle but not on your person. At my first job, it is allowed and I do carry. In fact, she (the business owner) feels more safe with me there and looks to me as a son almost. At my second job, it is forbidden. It must be left in the vehicle when I go in for work. All 3 places SHOULD be a place to carry legally.
