Like most hunters I am having the problem with deer turning noctural after the rut. The properties I hunt are two small areas and the deer bed off the properties so i cant set up close to the bedding area and also the food is not hard to find for the deer. any tips on how to find deer movement during shooting light?

Maybe try near water if the food is plentiful. They still need to drink.

What area are you hunting? What does your property have to offer? You got a map of the place your hunting that you can show us?

My place has doe's all year, but after rut is done we either hunt public land at the lake or hang it up, because we dont have bucks here any other time. But rut is usually good, this year it was amazing! Ive been doing foodplots and mineral sites the last few years. And it is paying off! I have 20 acres, and got hundreds of trailcam photos of bucks this year. Many of which no one, including most neighbors, have seen. So far im the only one who has taken one this year also. The doe's stay here, and on the adjoining property that is not ever hunted, and that draws the bucks in. I still after 3 years have no idea where the bucks dissapear to in our area. LoL

I guess what im saying is, do what you can with the patch of dirt you have to attract the doe's and the bucks will show up. Hell just fertilizing the hay field was the best thing i have done here. The deer feed in it like clock work, and barely touch the other that was not fertilized this year!
