Awesome buck to the OP, and to iamsamsamiam....really dude? Go be a jackass somewhere else, it's a great buck and he's proud of it!
He should be proud. No one said, don't be proud. All I said was, this is the wrong forum for ezmode kills. This is the bowhunting forum.
So gun is ezmode as you like to put it huh? I put a lot of effort into the deer I took two weekends ago with my shotgun and it was a stalk hunt and got within 35 yards before I took the shot. There is no need for you to ding the guy on that great buck, and god forbid someone post in the wrong forum. Almost every single one of your posts is some snide or smartass comment, apparently you are the guy we should all emulate to be as a hunter?
Just to be clear, I knew this was the bowhunting forum. The reason I put it here was because it seems to get the most traffic. Like most guys I just wanted to show it off to the most people possible.
I'm sorry. I really am happy for you and that dark brown rack is my favorite. Beautiful buck man, no doubt. I'm just sitting here 400miles from home thinking about Friday being my last chance before shotgun hunters go disturbing the deer. Not to mention, if one kills my buck before second bow season starts. Grats again man. You gonna mount him or do a euro? Neither?
Sam, you sill don't get it. Unless you've got him penned in somewhere its not "your buck". If a gun hunter gets him congratulate him on a job well done. No hunting is easy.
Ah...you raise fenced in deer. I'd be pissed to if someone shot through a fence at one of my deer if I was a deer farmer.
At times people will make the mistake of saying "my buck" instead of "my target buck"......but I would hope we all know this.
Yeah because we never hear anyone refer to deer as theirs at bhc. Except for when people say these are my hit list bucks, my target deer, etc. Same intent as saying my deer...and if someone kills a deer you've had your eye on or been after then you generally can't help but feel a little disappointed. Guess it just depends on who says what...oh to be in the cool crowd I see griz beat me to it.
Guys, sam is a little on the smart side of things...so I'm just trying to communicate as he does. It is something we all fall into, but grow to understand as we mature as hunters. I myself spent over 160 hours almost all dedicated to one target deer alone before gun season started here...only to learn he was wounded from a mere 10 yards away on gun opener. Did it suck, yeah...but I didn't feel the anger like I used to when target deer would fall to others and I had the "my" syndrome effect.
