shot this guy this morning at around 8:30 here in virginia! We started off sitting down on the mountain with guns but decided to call it quits because it was 28 degrees and the wind was blowin 25 mph! so I decided to walk back to the truck where my sister and uncle were already at. I decided to sit in there for about 10 minutes and decided to go back out and start walkin down the mountain(hoping I would see something making its way back up the mountain since they go down to the fields at night and come back up in the morning).So I put my shotgun in the truck and started off with my parker compound bow! I went about 300yards down the road on mountain and heard a noise. So I looked to my left and saw a doe who was paying attention to something else instead of me! So I waited for about 3 minutes and there he was! He came from about 80 yards away and he stopped. He stopped around 50 yards away from me! Standing broadside! I normally wouldn't make a 50 yard shot with my bow but ive been practicing at it and I felt pretty comfortable about makin the shot! and about a minute before I heard the truck start up back up the mountain. and I knew as soon as he saw the truck he would've ran! it was now or never!So I drew back, stood up, lined it up and let it fly! I never in a million years would have thought that he would have done what he did... He dropped right there, kicked once and I knew I had gotten him!!!!!! I can not describe how excited I am about this!!!!!!haha I just thought id share it with yall and tell me what ya think!
Congratulations! Where did you hit him? As far as a a European mount I just dig a hole put the head in put a piece of plywood over the hole and cover it with dirt. Leave it for a few months and it should be clean. You will have to soak it for three day in peroxide then rinse it off and put it in the sun for three days. You may have to glue some pieces back together then paint it with a clear polyurethane .
