Rut Question?

During the chase phase of the rut where would be a better place to hunt during the morning; edges of the fields or deep woods?

 

I prefer to hunt bedding areas or trails leading back to them from where they are feeding

 

Well its different every where. Like said above, bedding areas or between 2 bedding areas or food and bedding are always good. Best thing to do, hunt there you see the bulk of the doe in your area. Doe don't change much other then running more to get away from the hornballs. Bucks only mindset is ladies, so find ladies, find boys!

 

Bucks will be walking downwind of doe bedding areas looking for a hot doe.

 

Thats right. Bedding areas would be hot during the chase phase.

 

everyone has hit the nail on the head with Bedding areas. if you have constent does some where thats where you want to be.

Honestly "The Chasing" part of the rut your better off between food and bedding, but if I had to choose it would be food. Only if it's the last couple of weeks. Next week is a different ball of wax. (I Hope)
