Yes they are pricey but I could be naked under that thing and be fine in cold temps. Might have to try it lol

I avoid cotton socks. Wool is better for warmth in my opinion. Idk if you're doing this but sometimes people will double or triple there socks. This isn't smart. With cotton socks they barely let your feet breath and therefore they sweat. And when they sweat they get cold. Wool breaths much easier than cotton. I would wear usually just one pair of socks, possibly a second. My Lacrosses has like 400 grams I'm usually decent. I'll admit I need a new pair because I do get cold after 3 hours in the wind with 30mph winds. My warm pair of boots are irish setters 1200 grams I think and they are amazing! you only need one pair of socks and you're good for as long as the rest of your body can handle the cold. I use those for icefishing though.
X3 but i normally place them under my toes. Since i only get out around 9 days a year(so far only once this year) i usually use 2 just in case when it gets below 45.
Also, be sure to wear a good pair of liner socks under a heavy pair of wool sock. That's what I do and it tends to work better than just layering up several pair of socks. When it gets bitterly cold I'll wear a toasty toe between the two.
I wear a pair of real thin black dress socks, with my rubber boots that are 400 gram insulate. My feet never get cold. The trick is to wear a good thin pair of socks, so your feet will not sweat and they can breath. If you sweat a lot naturally (some people do) put a zip lock plastic freezer bag over your foot then your socks, that way your sock will stay warm and dry. That trick works all the time. Good Luck
Muck boots is the way to go. I take my time walking in to my stand to limit sweat and that works fine. My feet dont get cold at all.
Toe warmers like everyone else has said.. Also if you sit for most of the hunt standing up for 5 or 10 minutes every once and awhile can make a big difference.
Make sure your boots are not too tight. You need to have circulation in your toes, and if you have normal size feet(not like the size 16 snoeshoes i call feet) those overboots are great with a handwarmer inside while you sit.
Looks like they're no longer called toasti toes. Now they come in multi packs and are just called toe warmers. 7 pair for $6 at wally world, picked up a pack tonight.
Thermacell makes a wireless heated insole. They are a little expensive but if you figure that with the disposables you have to keep purchasing them over and over again. Maybe a good item to ask Santa for or good around tax time! http://www.thermacell.com/heated-insoles-foot-warmers
Also, you don't want to wear tight boots. Get boots that give you some room inside for an extra pair of socks and to allow the warm air to circulate.

Muck boots and wool socks and I'm almost too hot sometimes. I do wear lacrosse when it's not too cold out. My buddy who is paraplegic wears boot blankets to keep his feet warm.
