Good luck tonight. Sitting in the Dr.'s office currently and think I'll be hitting public ground this evening and dependent on the results hitting my uncles I the am and possibly the public land again tomorrow evening.

Starting to talk myself out of an evening sit tonight. Winds are picking up now, gusting to 25 currently and wouldn't be surprised to see some nearing 30 as the afternoon unfolds. If it wasn't an hour drive to get there it would be a lot easier to go, tough choice ahead.

I'm retaining my man card. Gonna hit the shower and then the road. Winds always calm down for prime time right? Think I'm going to set my climber up on the other side of the creek I hunted last Saturday. I'm curious as to whether that solo deer I had seen was a buck or not, and with any luck the doe I should have drawn in will still be on a similar route. NW wind then, S-SW today.

I haven't hunted the past couple days because of work schedule changes. Will be hitting it tomorrow. The other morning, I checked my trail cam and got more pics of the buck I passed on opening day. I don't feel as bad now...he's kinda borderline of a shooter but I think I'd let him walk again if given the opportunity.

He's a good looking buck, be hard to pass up. But if you do and he gets some mass next year he's going to be a stud, he might end up braiding those brows if he isn't careful.

    Good Luck!

Unfortunately I overslept this morning. Not like 30-45 minutes but by a whole 3 hours. Woke up at my alarms and layed there for a second, blinked and 3 hours had passed. Not too happy about it, really wanted one more cool morning hunt.

Currently contemplating what to do, torn between an evening sit tonight or a morning sit tomorrow.

I'm sitting at home again, 30mph gusts and rain. Good thing is that between the rain and wind I'd hope a lot more leaves come down than would normally.

Supposed to be more of the same tomorrow morning so doubt I make it back out this weekend. I will be going out next weekend, and mark my words, blood will be spilled. Just hope it's not mine!

Yeah, it can be dangerous making statements like that. Two weeks ago I told Sara, "Something is going to die tonight!"

.... it was my trolling motor.

Weather is going to be very bad here today. Was hoping to get out check the cams, put 2 more up and just check on a thing or two but they are talking 4"-7" of rain, hail, tornadoes, and high winds so I am staying in the house. May try to make a run for a morning hunt tomorrow its supposed to cool down a bit overnight. I know of 1 stand thats probably off limits for this week. I don't think I'll be able to get to it with all this rain. Going to be hit and miss over the next 10 days because of the weather.

Rain has moved through, may try to go out for an evening hunt. Heavier rain not supposed to start back up until after dark. See how it looks about 12:30-1

Hey guys, I shot a doe yesterday morning. Overslept a couple hours but went out anyway and connected. Friday, I passed two more bucks, an 8 and 9 pointer. Nothing huge. Still holding out for the big boy.

Here's a link to the story and pics of the bucks I've passed so far. Gotta work 3-11 again this week so I'll be hunting the mornings again. Wish me luck.

I killed a buck last night, pretty disappointed in the shrinkage. Happened fast with low light and I should have passed. I believe he is 2.5 years old with good genetics and would have been a stud in a couple years. I hunt public land in Missouri and I shot him at Reform Conservation Area. I've got my pics but haven't taped him out yet. Pretty bummed about blowing my tag on him, just not the quality of deer I am looking for this year. I was hoping to add a few more points for the team, LOL. The lessons of bowhunting. I'll get him posted up tonight.
