The reason i carry more then one arrow is i have more then one tag not the fallow up shot! I have many times shot more then one deer in a day or a deer a yote or something. There are many days when animals move in the woods and theres days they dont and if the woods are movein I feel you shoud take advantage of that,
5, because that's what my quiver holds. If it held 10, I would take 10. Never know when you'll run into a roving gang of Tom Brokaws.
Wow! Now I REALLY feel funny for only carrying 3, all with bh. The only reason I carry the 3rd is for coyote.
Oh your fine in the tree. It's the walk back in the dark that will get you. By the way, I have no issues with anyone taking 60 yard shots at zombies.
I've used two arrows a couple times. First time I shot and missed a turkey shortly after sunrise when they came off the roost. Shot a small fork about an hour later. 2nd time I shot a coyote mid morning, shot a doe later that efternoon. 3rd time, hit a doe back a little bit. Had to put a 2nd, which was actually my 3rd arrow(first 2nd shot deflected as I was trying to shoot through sapplings), to put her down 45 minutes after the 1st shot. In all of the times I have shot, only one time was I rushing to load another arow after the initial shot, and that was when I shot 1 of 3 coyotes last season, a 2nd kept coming in and I knocked a 2nd arrow in hopes of killing it too. I was glad it didn't come into range, as I probably would have ended my sit to retrieve the arrows and put new broadheads on as I would have been down to 1 arrow. I always have more than one tag on me, 2 deer or deer and turkey and there are so many coyotes I need more than 2 arrows. And there have been mornings where I seen all 3 in one sit.
If i see one in the day light im shooting then getting down and running as fast as i can back to my truck. lol
I typically carry 3 BH and 1 Field tip just in case it is a real slow evening, I can try to shoot a squirrel before I hop out of the tree. Or if there is an osage orange I can try shooting it before I get out at the end of the night!
Hysterical! I carry a full quiver of broadheads. One holds 5 the other holds 6. I quit shooting coyotes after two to save arrows for deer :D
6, because that's what my quiver holds. I usually have 4 with broadheads, and 2 with field points in case I want to take a few practice shots, or have a squirrel sandwich for dinner.
