There was a freak 12" of snow up there the end of last week. Yeah, the deer have very large bodies on them up there.
Not in my hood... Largest doe anyone I know shot was 131# dressed. Most adult doe are 100-115 pounds here.
I came face to face with a forky last year. He had no idea what I was. We just checked eachother out for 5min about 10 feet from one another. He eventually turned and walked off but it was intense! Awesome pics!
Dang, I'm happy when I can get one over 100#'s. I would only have to shoot a couple of deer up there.
I love seeing a hunter's reaction when a deer actually hits the scales. Most of the time... there is some serious ego deflation happening. It is a really big buck around here that breaks 200... and most does I have seen struggle to break 100. Some do... I have seen some 120#rs but they are very rare in my experience. Same goes for 5 pound + bass.
