MCB Quantico VA

    Anyone hunt on the base in Quantico? I'm new here and haven't had time to do any preseason scouting so just wondering if anyone has any good words of advice.

    My grandparents have 50 acres that juts up against Quantico and my grandfather was an instructor there for many years. I know he and my uncle hunted there a while back but that was so many years ago, I'm not sure if things changed.

    What part do you hunt Brett? My family's place is separated from Quantico by Broad Run off of Brenttown Road.

    SMC, I hunt all over the base. That is really cool your family's land is right by Quantico. There are supposed to be some really good hunting spots off Rt 610 and Brenttown Road. If they live there they probably live close to area 14A. I've killed some deer up there and always thought some of the better bucks were bedding on the other side of Broad Run.

    My father entered the Marine Corps in 1969 on Quantico and exited in 1993 from Quantico. A lot of history on the base.

    Ive never hunted it but Ive met several guys at shows that kill some hammers there. A father and son team come to mind, think they do tile work or something?? Anyway, Ive heard its got some big ones running around. Good luck
