Wasn't sure if this is the best place to post this, but I am in the market for binoculars. I haven't had anything but the cheap one ($25-$50) and am looking for something a little nicer ($100-$150). I guess I just want to know what brand and magnification so of you got and the pros and cons. No better place than BH.COM to get opinionated answers!!:tu:

I'm in the same boat. My waterproof binos ended up being not so waterproof.
    I've been digging around
    binoculars dot com
    binocularreviews dot org

    Lots and Lots of reading.

I'm leaning towards one in the Nikon lineup.

I use the vortex diamondbacks. They may be a bit more than you want to spend though. They make a cheaper pair in your price range, the crossfires I believe. They were the best quality I've seen in that price range when i tried them in the store. Plus all vortex binos have an unconditional lifetime warranty.

I have the Nikon Trailblazer ATB ($149) in 10x42 and really like them for the price.

For most whitetail situations, a basic 8 power binocular is all that you need.
Leupold Yosemite is a GREAT bino for the money.

I used 10power when I'm hunting very open woods or fields, otherwise, its 8 power.

I have nikons in your price range and I have no complaints, light, clear glass, durable. I have no experience with vortex binos but based on their rifle scope I owned they are awesome quality! I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything vortex
