Novice in the Twin Cities and Ottertail Co Mn

Hello all. My name is Brian and I am new to bow hunting. I live near Minneapolis MN and also have a cabin up in Ottertail County (on a lake but no land). I am currently trying to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I have to use public land right now and am struggling with where to set up (I have access to a ground blind and portable hanger stand). I am checking around for private land to hunt but not having much luck without dropping a ton of cash. Thanks for letting me join the forum and as I browse I will be sure to ask questions in the appropriate places. Good luck all.

 

Welcome to the site Brian. If I were u id just get out on the land and search for signs like paths, trails, bedding, food/water sources, fresh droppings, etc...

I hunt up here, though I may try and go smoke a turkey this fall down by Rochester.

I get to the Cities at least once a year. Usually when the Minneapolis schools are on Spring Break, we house sit for some firends near Lake of the Isles
