I have 11 goldtip XT Hunters 7595 that I'll probably never use I can send you, or a few Easton Axis 340's. Let me know, we'll get you back in a tree.

It happens. I bet i lost a half dozen last year due to my bow just being way out of tune and it always flying twords some tall marajuana. A bush hog will find em quick though. Keep at it. No failures, just lessons for improvement.

None of you have picked up on the fact that he also needs batteries for the range finder. Dont forget the batteries with the arrows and camo. Some lighted nocks would be nice too.

Isn't this the same boy that shot a deer in the shoulder a few weeks ago and wasn't goin to be able to hunt anymore because he tore up his hunting clothes looking for it?

Maybe BHC can get Dr. Phil to show up once a week for a venting session.

Sometimes this place feels like The View.

I have lost an arrow or two over the years, but if I just shot my last arrow 25 yrds away and the rest of the season depended on me finding it, I believe eventually I would.

Just like the camo story...I aint buying...is this a 15 yo from missouri or maybe someone having a laugh off you guys? I have an opinion, but it is just that, only an opinion.

    Elvis has left the building.

Was the shot down hill? You shouldn't shoot 2' too high with only 5 yards difference in your guess. Are you sure you didn't hit the buck?

While it's cool to see the generosity in this thread, I certainly would not want to feed the likely hood of a kid flinging arrows pretty much willy nilly at deer from his previous posts. No arrows = no more wounded deer. Sometimes that is a good thing.

    Steps off soap box....

I am with you, Ryan ... it sounds like he needs a responsible adult hunter to mentor him ... it isn't going to happen here as this isn't hands on...

But his Dad has over 30 years of bowhunting experinece, remember??? hmmmm......

Careful guys, last time I took the path you are on most of the newbies and a few others were ready to get out the pitchforks and string me up!!

To me, sending this "young man" equipment is like giving a crack-head cash. Makes us enablers.

The best we can do is encourage him to hook up with a responsible archer and start over from the beginning. He needs to call his state's bowhunter association and see if they can find a mentor. Here is the contact info for the President of Missouri Bowhunters Assoc.

I was always raised to work hard and earn the things I need and not look for hand outs. I paid for my first car in high school from working jobs once school and the different sports I participated in were done for the day....telling me he can't find a job to pay for a couple arrows? I started working when I was 14 washing dishes at a restaraunt. I do understand some folks wanting to help, but if this is the same kid who tore up his clothing as well...maybe you should stay out of the woods for awhile......

How is someone supposed to learn a valuable lesson when people are sending arrows because of his mistakes? Then we will see another post about a broken bow or more arrows. Wouldn't you rather earn the arrows? Go do some chores, get a job, anything to get some cash and go buy some. Im all about helping another hunter out but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Some people just don't get it. :throw:

Why do you say that? He was able to walk up within 18 yards of a 130"-140" class buck.. Looks like spot and stalk is his game. He just needs a battery for his range finder and one more arrow.

If only someone will help him out with that I am sure he will connect next time. No, really he will. I mean come on...at 18 yds you gotta have a range finder or you are absolutely screwed.
