Just checked the weather for this weekend and much of the time they are predicting "light and variable wind". Sure doesn't make things easy. I don't ever recall several days in a row of that condition before.

I'm trying to figure out how I can use it to my advantage and I'm not coming up with anything other than to hunt mornings and take advantage of the rising thermals.

    Any other suggestions?

In my opinion it's going to be a tough weekend with the full moon upon us. Check cameras ASAP and decide from there. My bet is deer activity is good mid-day. Good luck Brad !

During my 5-6 mile drive to the one property I hunt, I seen several deer crossing the road and in the ditches. It was only about 2pm, so very early in the day for evening movement in my area. Seen lots of deer while in my hunting spot.

a key rule i always use is to find the direction of the wind and a hollow that suits that windage. For example if you have an east west wind and your hunting a north south hollow the air flow goes down in and swirls and deer dont like that especially the old ones. If you can find a hollow that runs east and west thats where they will be because the wind will be consistant and they can feed and use it to their favor. The reason this works is deer rely on their nose more when the wind alters their ability to hear.
Just an old trick ive used and something to think about!

My land is flat as a pancake. Good thought though.
