Hey fellas, smoked me a nice doe this morning on opening day.

Oly I shot her at 14 yards, slightly quartered away. She made it about 60 yards and piled up! The killzone entered behind the front shoulder and exited through the off shoulder blade, it blew right through it. I'm shooting a mathews Z7 Extreme at 70 lbs, 30" draw. Easton FMJ 300 spines that weight 532 grains traveling 262 fps. Im impressed with the power so far.

This is my first year archery hunting and amazingly the first day I went out I bagged a nice doe. I am hooked for sure, it was an 11 yard shot doubled lunged her.

Nice work Alex, I saw ur post on the scorecard right after I checked our team thread. Watching any good bucks?

We still need sharpeyesam to post his doe pics.

I like our chances if we all whack does and score decent on bucks.

My primary buck hunting will be done late October and into November during the rut. But we've got a lotta 140-160 class deer that live on us so if one shows himself during daylight I'll gladly thwack him. If not I'll hold off for more buck activity as the rut heats up.

Our section borders some state ground and the local hunters push a lotta bucks our way. Plus we have tons of does so they rut on our farm pretty hard. I'll have a whole new group of bucks showing up to rut that I've never seen. The 153" I killed last season showed up on cam November 13 and I had him killed November 20.

Hey Oly; i saw you used the quickfletch on your arrows.

I did mine yesterday and went to shoot today... my shots are now all over the place... I am wondering if it could be since i just got the new string, that my bow needs tuned again; shot it about 200 times since i got it... maybe a little less... but man with the season only a week away, im depressed a little bit to say the least.

hmm are you doing anything different since you got the bow back? maybe shooting with or with out the quiver now and you were doing the opposite before. because mine are flying great. i had to do a little tweak but it was very minor. where are your arrows hitting?
