So I've got several pics from game cam of bucks in my area. Last week pulled the SD card and had only one. Today I pulled it again and nothing. I go in every 7-10 days to pull the card. Is it possible they have already changed their pattern? Our opening day is Saturday. I have pictures over the last month of five shooter bucks and now nothing.

I have the same thing happen every year. Yes, they are changing from their normal summer pattern unfortunately. I can't say that they won't be back, but the times they are a changing for the bucks...

Depending on where your cameras are located I would also rethink how often you check them. If I hang a camera deep in an area I'll let it sit 3-4 weeks to minimize intrusion. On the other hand I hang some on well used ag roads and fields. i will check those more often since the deer are accustomed to the disturbance a little more.

Could it be that you're " stinking up the area"? I've had the same thing happen to one of my spots recently and I've decided to just leave it alone for awhile.

It's that time of year again. All the shooters on my camera have disappeared the past few weeks.

Once the bucks loose their velvet, they change their pattterns. Here in Nebraska, they tend to hide in the corn fields from now to rut. Most of the corn has been harvested already because of the drought. Going to be a interesting year.

There are a variety things that could of happened but most likely they are finding different food sources and annual pattern changes.

Could someone nearby be feeding them away from you? Also what seasonal natural feeds are available such as persimmons, acorns, etc... Figure out what they are eating and where it is and you'll have your answer.

This is mostlikely the case. Especially if the bucks were traveling together. When the gloves come off they start to become less tolerant of eachother.

Agreed 100%. Most of my bachelor groups start showing up as individuals now with the more mature bucks showing face only in the last bit of daylight in the evening and before shooting light in the early morning.

Here are a few that I got on cam. I have a few others but havn't uploaded the pics yet. The area is between corn/wheat field and bedding area. Just havn't seen them the last two weeks. Hoping I see them this weekend for the MO opener.

I'll say the same I always do. Deer move based on instincts. The instincts to live and the instincts to pass on their genes with the former out weighing the latter 99% of the time when you talk mature bucks (especially in pressured spots). Now the first is affected by tons of factors which any change in those can shift what they'll do: temperature, barmetric pressure, wind direction, wind speed, weather fronts, precipitation (also when was the last and when is the next), moon phase, food sources, water sources, good bedding for that time of year......
