Well, God's been pretty good to me this past week, opening day of Whitetail archery season I was able to kill a big buck I've been trail caming for 4 years and hunting for 3.... MR. P as I called him was my at the top of my Idaho list of whitetails this year. After 3 seasons of this buck eluding me, I felt I had him dialed for early archery high on a mountain bluff that he crossed over in the a.m. while ascending to his main bedding area. I caught him opening morning and got it done quick on a 18 yard dbl lung shot and he lasted all of 5 seconds and went 40-50 yards form where I drilled him. Then on the third day of Idaho's archery elk season, and the first day I was able to hunt for elk, I found a nice bull in the A.M. but had to put him to bed to go watch my sons football game, came back this evening, got in on him and his cows and sucked him in with some good positioning, cow talk and young bull challenge .... 45 yards double lung.. he lasted 100 yards and 10 seconds...onto my nextbuk and nextbul!
Shed, you are always getting the job done!! Congrats on yours harvests this season, you sir are a fine hunter.
Outstanding!! I am not sure people realize how difficult it is to do what you have done. A good bull is hard to come by on any piece of public ground, just check the success rates among archers, the numbers are incredibly doleful. But then throw a monster whitetail on top of that......Wow! You my friend reside in the "upper echelon" of hunters in our sport no doubt about it. People that are good at what they do make their endeavors look easy when in fact they are not. You are one of those peoplel Great job! Keep the rest of us "mortals" abreast of your adventures as you travel and the season progresses. I always love reading your stories and seeing the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
