Firenock shutting off.. For the record, Firenock is the only lighted nock out there that will stay lit after shooting out of an archery projectile at over 400 fps and stay lit. Many customer who claim bad battery life is that they have shorted the battery while installation! For 2012, we offer the easy coil for those who found it hard to install the battery with double lock loop. As for battery life. If you leave the battery on the firenock for over 8 months, the battery will drain out as the computer is always waiting for the signal. Last if you have a weak battery (total battery power less than 30% and/or output voltage is under 2.5v) , the built in ground fault system will prevent you from shutting it off. Unlike other computer system, the ground fault is very critical to a lighted nock as if you shot an animal and the arrow do not pass though, the light is one of the most important aid for you to locate it visually. As times goes on, the battery will be weak and most system will make it easier to turn off. In case of Firenock, the ground fault sub-system by pass the logic system and do not let it shut off. TO test if the system is a weak battery, shot the arrow with the light still on. If it turn off, but you cannot do the standard motionless for 6 seconds and drop the nock, which means you need a new battery. Below is an updated 2012 installation procedure for your reference.
