My family has lost a great friend. We recieved the news yesterday that our good friend, PFC Shane Cantu was killed while fighting for our Country, Monday 8-27-12. I will give you a little information about Shane. Shane was a graduate of Corunna High School right here in my home town. He was part of the 2010 graduating class. If there is on thing he loved, it was the football field. He was a three year starter on varsity playing middle linebacker. One thing for sure was that he was a team player. He went on to play college football on a full ride. After the first year at college he decided it just wasn't for him. He wanted to be part of a bigger team. Thats when he joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Vincenza Italy and was shipped out to Afganistan just over a month ago. You are a true American Hero!!!!!! May you Rest In Peace, PFC Cantu.

My deepest sympathies for his family and friends. The loss of a family member or friend is never easy. But, when one makes the ultimate sacrafice for the rest of us to live free always hits home a little harder. May the Lord watch over his family and give them solace in this time of sorrow.

Thanks for the comments guys. We will be going to a candle light ceremony tonight at his favorite place, the football field. Expecting a ton of people from the community there tonight.
