A good friend of mine lives in rural Illinois but they are a lot of expensive housing developments near his home. There is lots of timber and corn/bean/hay fields in this area. Many of the people in this area are not for the country and are what you call "city people". They are the kind that frowns upon hunting and such. Anyways my friend hunts every year and always shoots the first deer he sees. This is the first year in 40 some years that he did not even see a deer! What the reason is, is that the insurance companies who cover the "city" people's cars, paid off the DNR to set up feed stations and use a night scope to shoot all the deer in this area so that there wouldn't be any accidents. This may sound hard to believe but it is true! I am disgusted by this as i hope many of you are!
What part of IL? If it is the central northern part of IL the DNR has been doing this in the name of CWD for many years now.
It's a load of crap but doesn't surprise me one bit. Illinois DNR is just as corrupt as the politians we have.
Last year DNR wanted to take 1100 deer for CWD testing. Hunters got piss by this and dnr started useing hunters kills to do the testing but still hear them hiring the local swat team to do night time sniping. Just sad.
that is utterly disgusting, and disappointing. the fact that the political diseases that take those payoffs sucks royally, almost as much as the politicians themselves.
