Here's a link to a piece I just put together about lighted nocks. It's a bit lengthy, but if you're looking to find out the features, benefits and drawbacks of each type you should read it. It really opened my eyes to a lot of goods and bads of all the different brands.

Read it earlier today...I personally haven't went to lighted nocks yet, but may think about it. Great article and seemed un-bias which is refreshing at all times!

Justin, GREAT ARTICLE. I wish everyone could write a review like that. To be honest I was guessing you were going to pick FireNock over any because we all know that they are good friends with a lot of the members on here so it was nice to see an honest opinion.

Thanks for the great write-up JZ! I've been using the CX nocks for the last 3 years and I love em! They may not be the brightest out of all the lighted nocks, but they work very well for me. Being satisfied and confident in your equipment is what we're all after anyway, isn't it?

They're definitely worth it. The first time you recover an arrow because of the lighted nock, your wallet will thank you.

Great review JZ. I went with the Laser Eye's this year and have shot them several times already. They might not be the brightest but they are bright enough. I liked that they were the lightest and appear the be the easiest to use. I have been super happy with them so far and have no reason to even consider changing.

Great Article Justin! I enjoyed how thorough you were and the unbiased information your article had. I don't personally shoot lighted nocks but if I do I'll definitely remember this article. Also when you do make your decision you should let us all know. I'm just curious. :tu:

I would like to add I use trace nocks and they are ok. The biggest problem I have with them they break too easy. The battery case (skin) pulls away after few shots.

Have shot the "magnet type" nocks before and had battery issues somehow.. They were all dead when I travelled to the hunting lodge.. Who knows what happened... I shoot the NOCKturnals now... yea, you have to get used to switching it off, but it's dang near 100% gonna turn on when shot..

Thanks Justin for an awsome unbias write up on these.. Everyone will have their own experiences with everyone of them.. the article was thorough, clear, and covered alot of angles... Look forward to other articles from you.. Good huntin'...

It was great to read an article that wasn't a commercial. I appreciate the time you put into it. Myself I bought some from WalMart just to try them out. It was horrible, they didn't light up half the time, didn't really fit my arrow, and came flying out lodging themselves into my target. Now I know what to look for and what suits me and my arrows. Thanks a bunch!

Great review! I'm currently making the leap to lighted nocks. I'm still undecided on the ones to get but I believe I will end up with the Nockturnals. Thanks for the reviews they really are very useful and informative.

You may want to reconsider. They were bought out by Rage, and have since become pretty much junk!

As an update to this - Carbon Express did come out with a new nock called the Launchpad for this year. I've been testing them out for a couple of weeks and am pretty impressed so far. They're very similar to the Laser Eye they had in the past, but a little bit brighter and the nock itself has a more precise fit for better accuracy (so they say). I'll be doing a full review/test of them in the next few weeks in between working, thinking about hunting and taking care of my wife's 1,000 item honey-do list. :D
