My goals: #1- harvest at a minimum 130" deer in Kansas this November. #2- NH black bear like this guy: #3- a NH Buck or doe. #4 will depend on hunting permission and it'd move to 2 if I got it.
1. To enjoy my time in the woods 2. Take at least a 6 pointer 3. Harvest enough to not run out before next year (probabally 3)
#1 To find a way to balance hunting and my little boy (1st child) who is due any day now. #2 When I am actually able to get into a tree this year, to put some meat in the freezer (preferably a doe and a mature buck).
My goal is to spend some time in the woods and enjoy its beauty. I would like to fill the majority of my six tags too. I would also like to self film a couple hunts, but I won't try that until I get a couple in the freezer. It would be nice to have a wall hanger hit the ground, but I won't be let down if I don't see him. I'm no trophy hunter.
Get my self back into physical shape....after surgery 3 years ago I let myself get wayyyy out of shape. I noticed that I was cutting corners I shouldn't simply because I was out of shape.... SB
I haven't killed a deer with my bow since 2009, so I'm just hoping to fill a tag. A decent buck would be icing on the cake.
I also just want to enjoy my time in woods this year. This past year I was just trying way too hard. Goal is to keep it simple.
I started a thread like this about a month ago, but it doesnt matter at all buddy. Plenty of people didnt respond so it doesnt hurt to try again! My goal is to get a doe (maybe 2) down early so I can have meat in the freezer and work hard on getting a buck. I have a 120" min on bucks this year so I want as much time as possible to get him. I also have a goal of 150+lbs of meat by the end of the year...so Im counting the seconds to season to get started! haha.
My youngest son killed his first deer with a bow last year. A doe. This year my goal is to have him get a P&Y buck and at least a couple of does. My goals are to kill a mid 150's or better buck and take several does.
I would like to harvest a 160+" buck and a couple does off our property. Safety is always one of my main goals too.
Take one of the two giant bucks I found, while still in velvet. Take my elk. Take 3 or more does from the ground via spot and stalk. This year is a kill mission.
Finally have a few minutes. This working thing is taking up more time than I'd like it to lately. Mine are a little different this season than last. I shot my first deer last year with a bow but, didn't recover her. Yotes got her. So my first goal is stick the first thing that comes by. If it doesn't have spots I'm killing it. If that means I have to join one of Vito's pro staff. Yep, you know the one. Then I'm going after my first buck. I'd really like to take one of the decent sized 8's we have roaming around here. Then just kill as many deer as I can. My shooting has improved leaps and bounds since last season and I am more confident with my shot and yardage judging than I've ever been. I am going to hunt less and smarter. Hunt the wind as I did last season and focus in learning more about thermals. Hunt my first piece of public property. If I kill on public that would just be a bonus. I just want to be out there on bigger property. my number one goal is to stay safe. Always wear my harness like I did last season and make it to and from without injuries or worse every time.
