I'm always looking for the one liner or in 25 words or less a way to explain why I hunt and why I'm so comfortable with it.

Not wanting to start a fight or tell someone off because this may be a client or a person you deal with in your business or personal life but, help them see "life's cycle" and understand that if your not hunting your own game but paying your local grocery store to do your killing then your a hypocrite. Again, not to start a fight but to tell someone off but to leave them thinking. As hunters we know what problems the can arise with over population of any species and we as hunters are part of the solution, not the problem.

My wife really loves the fact that I'm bow hunting and is always telling people about the hunting part of our NZ trip. She showed a lady and her husband that's doing some work for us my Red Stag photo and the lady was like horrified and kind of gets in my face and says "how would you like it if this Stag came and killed your wife" well when tried to give her and her husband my point of view on the subject, they, like many left-wingers change the subject and didn't want to here the real truth.

So I'm just looking for that one line or statement that will help them get it.

Right now I'll say, "I used to feel the same way but when I stopped to think about all the meat I've consumed in my life, I felt like a real hypocrite, after all, just because I buy my meats pre-packaged from the frozen food department doesn't mean I didn't have blood on my hands.

    Thanks

When someone asks me why I have to kill those beautifull deer, I always say "Because they taste good".

"We like to know where our meat comes from and not just accept it on a styrofoam tray covered in cellophane." Then you could ask them who killed the last cow they ate.

After the conversations start and hunting comes up and they seem to be opposed to hunting,I will say do you read the Bible, and most say why yes. Then I ask have you read Genesis 27:3.And a lot of them say no,they ask why don't you give that part a good looking at and get back to me.

See, that's the thing though. No matter what you say, they're never going to "get it".

Hahahaha! That's an excellent retort. Can't imagine that not ruffling some feathers tho. I may have to use that line real soon. I kinda like to ruffle a few feathers now and then ;)

All very good, thanks and keep them coming.

It's funny, why is it OK to kill a grouper or big Red Fish but not ok the kill a deer? How come they make a big deal about cutting tree's down for lumber but not for wiping out an entire forest to grow corn? People love saying their vegetarians now but look at what is takes to grow crops. The land you have to clear and the machinery you have to run and the water and the help you have to pay and it still takes months before anyone gets to eat it. When we go into the woods to harvest an animal we leave it exactly how we found it but with one less animal which has no impact on the environment.

It's our God-given right, and I enjoy it!

Anti's for the most part will never accept a drawn out argument, they have their opinions and we have ours. However, my father-in-law listened, and after years of conversations I now have exclusive rights to hunt his land that was unhunted for years. A rare success story!

You probably can't convince them. Left wing liberals seem to have a habit of avoiding any logical discussion on any subject. I had a lady where I work, who is a vegeterian, get on me one time for taking a life to eat. This is what I told her; "There are two rules to life, rule #1; for anything to live, something else has to die, whether it be plant, animal, or microrganism." Rule number two is, you can't change rule #1. She never said anything to me about that again.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

I'm going to use that for my sig.:)

Honestly, I try to avoid carrying on a battle of wits with unarmed people.
