Here is part of the best bowhunting story I have ever read. It is absolutely CRAZY with an unbelievable ending!

When I left the house that morning, my goal was to get up to my stand well before first light undetected. Unfortunately that's far from how it would play out as my pre-dawn trip almost ended up being more like a scene out of "Jurassic Park". My routine uphill climb was abruptly put on hold when I crossed paths with an unseen, very excited rutting buck...

That is crazy man, it's also pretty cool that you don't know if that was the buck. That makes for a great story for years to come, especially since he is ok.

    Cool story.

But how many would risk getting gourd by a big buck rather than switch on a flash light on him?:)

That is totaly crazy! Reminds me of one of my first ever hunts and an encounter with the biggest buck of my life. I will post that story on My Buck Story later this weekend! Not nearly that crazy though!

soiled pants? ABSOLUTELY!! Whatever deer were left in the woods that day would be able to smell me from a LONG way off. I would definitely have had to go change clothes

Very intersting. One must ask what they would have done in that situation. I always have my hunting knife handy. Not sure why, all we have in my area are deer and coyotes, just paranoid? Maybe.
Some guys carry to their stands. Would they have shot in that situation? I would have done everything I could not to spook the deer within reason. In the pitch black, a big body buck coming in, even in stand will get your blood pumping and hair stand, I couldn't imagine running into one face to face on the ground.
