I am on cloud 9! Saturday, I killed my first turkey ever! Ive been getting in to turkey hunting over the past couple years and learning to call and how to set up on a bird and those type things...and saturday was my first time to try it all on my own....the bird let me know where he was at first light and i moved to within about 60-70 yds of him and did some soft yelping...i struck the call 3 times and he pitched down 20 yds in front of me. Lights out! Best of all my pa-in-law was with me on the other side of our property so i got to share the experience with him! I'm told he was a 3 yr old, he had a 9 3/4" beard and 1" spurs...great Mississippi bird!!! A new turkey hunting addict is born!!!!!

no, it was with a shotgun...first turkey period. I'd love to kill one with my bow, don't think i'm quite ready for that just yet though.

Congrats none-the-less. The first one is tough with any weapon. Trust me, its gets much easier with experience.

Congrats on the bird. I'm finally going to get to go this saturday. I have such a love hate relationship with baseball, love the game, but hate it keeps me out of the turkey woods.
