Here is Minnesota this morning we were supposed to wake up to what was being dubbed as "snowpocalyps". Overnight last night we were supposed to get anywhere from 10 - 18 inches of snow with a wind up to 30 mph. They have been hyping this storm for close to a week now, every day closer was bringing the snow totals higher and higher. Yesterday came the eve of this alleged snowpocalys, schools were already being cancelled for the next day without even seeing a snowflake yet. Why? Because this was the storm of the winter bearing down on us. Fast forward to right now, almost 11:00 the next day - instead of being snowed in my house with my family, praying the snowplow will have us out in the next day or so, we have a grand total of.... 1/4" of snow, and it quit snowing.
Just started snowing here I was hoping for another blast! Looks like Duluth has been getting hit all morning.
I'm about 40 miles north of the cities and we have about 5 inches, a far cry from the 18 we were supposed to get. Must be nice to get paid big money to suck at your job.
Not sure what the weather was like, but our location in Duluth closed down at about 9:30 this morning due to weather.
My brother in Duluth just closed his clinic. I believe one or both bridges to Superior WI are closed as well.
I've been to Duluth several times. When the weather is nice it is great, but man the weather there just plain sucks. If that wind is blowing in off Superior, it is just nasty.
We haven't seen any type of snow in a few years down here in LA. In fact, since early February, we've all been in short sleeves with highs in the 60-80 degree range. I would kill for 1/4" of snow. Funny sig Jay!

Yup, if you went by the forcast for the winter I'd have our normal 10 or 12 feet. We'd be lucky if we got 3 or 4 feet this winter. It is snowing now. We got maybe 2 or 3 inches so far. I hope the forcast is wrong as usual as they say we're changing over to freezing rain this afternoon/evening. Don't need that.
We were supposed to get a big storm Sat night. No snow at all. Last night 3 to 5 inches. We have over 20 on the ground and is still coming down.
We got what they were predicting for our area. Right around 8 to 9 Inches of snow we got. Prior to that we got 1.5 Inches of Ice pellets and some rain. It was a long day yesterday In the milk truck. I started early and took off at 2:30 In the morning with the truck. I got back home at 4:30 yesterday evening. Then took off again at 6:00 for the evening run and pulled In at 10:30 last night. 18.5 hours, typical winter storm hours for me. The winds were the worst, gusting to 30 mph. It's been an easy winter though, no complaining for me.
It seems that the more the technology for the meteorologists advances the worse their predictions get..... I'm 34 back in the day when ****ie Albert said it was going to snow it snowed!!!!! Now a days if they say 4-8" of snow that's a 50% chance of rain!!!!!!
I can't tell you how many times I stayed in bed or stayed home in the afternoon because of supposed "storms" that never were. It pisses me off. BUT, after 22 years of hunting and fishing, I finally learned that they do suck at predicting weather and I no longer stay home. Just this past weekend, we were supposed to get 7-12 inches and didn't get 1/2 inch total! They usually nail the temperatures good, but the precipitation, wrong! Sal
Stay warm partner....Looks like I'm fishing this weekend. High 60's currently 58 degrees and for this area of Virginia this time of the year Snow is usually on the ground at 3 ft deep with snow mounds at 6ft high.
