    Buy a $1,000 2nd hand bow.
My Mathews Monster retailed for $999 and I paid $635 for it.

I love Hoyts and the Rampage is great but, I have a couple questions. Are you keeping any of your accessories or are you trying to buy new ones and stay in that price range?

Your best bet IMO is to go to cabelas and buy you a Diamond Outlaw 330fps for $499. It is a ready to hunt package and it is a really good bow. I would also suggest looking into the 2011 PSE bowmadness at cabelas. It is going for $430 and it is rated at 331fps but it is bare bow so you would need to buy the accessories that the Outlaw already comes with. I chose the Bowmadness over the Outlaw because it was a better bow IMO. My .02

Look at archery shops in your area. They can have used bows that were worth $800 a few years ago that sell for half that now and are still in great shape.

Mission is another brand you may want to look into. Bowtech also has a RAK (ready aim kill) line that are ready to hunt right off the shelf.

I second the Diamond outlaw. I shoot a marquis and a buddy liked it so much he went out and bought the outlaw. I have shot it and it is a nice bow. He loves it.

    ^^This X2.

Mission series is great for the money. Some are really adjustable, so probably geared to a younger hunter to grow into. the Assassin from Bowtech is another good choice, and it comes ready to shoot out of the box(ie it has a rest, sight, stabilizer and quiver that come with the bow). Both good choices.

I would say the Hoyt Rampage or Bowtech Assassin if you're looking to buy a new bow.. But there are also allot of great used ones out there.

I'm not sure how much experience you have or what your looking for in a bow but a very adjustable bow for a great price is the Mission Craze I just picked up one for the girlfriend at I think it was $299 or in that ball park. The craze is a great bow for beginners and people that are still growing due to its adjustablity.

I bought the Hoyt Rampage XT for around 5 1/2. It's an awesome bow. Draw cycle is smooth, pretty fast, and it's quiet. Overall it's a great bow. The let-off could be a little more right now it's at around 75%. i would have loved to see it at around 80%. But other than that i love it.

I was looking for a new bow in November in the 500 to 700 range. I shot several and narrowed it down to PSE Bow Madness or the Hoyt Rampage XT. The Hoyt fit just right in my hand and the warranty for new ones are hard to beat. Other than the lower limb sliver - does not affect performance - my only regret is not purchasing the one with the 55-65 limbs. Now 2200+ shots and my peep is cutting my string, ready to replace that and fire off another few thousand shots.
