Hi Juys n Gals! I've just gotten my first hunting bow, and I'm looking forward start bowhunting very soon!! I've chosen the Hoyt Rampage XT, 60# , 28" draw, shootin Easton FMJ's with Spitfire Broadheads.. Lovin' it!! Im a 28 year old guy from Denmark. I live with my girlfriend, and we have a 3 year old daughter together. But sometimes a guy needs to be in the wilderness, so my buddy and I have taken some hiking trips to Sweden and Norway over the last 5 years.. and since we started shooting bows a year ago, Bowhunting just seems right! Im very interested in going to Norway/Sweden & Germany to hunt in the future, so if any of you guys have experience in these regions, then any help would be great! Happy Bowhunting!
Congratulations and send us some pictures of your bow and the beautiful country side your land has to offer.
Welcome my fellow scandinavian As for hunting-trips to Norway, you will not need the bow for now as it is illegal to go bowhunting here Norwegians travel over to you guys in Denmark to bowhunt, but there is a hearing now and maybe we will see that bowhunting can get legal here again after beeing fought for since 1985.... Like you, I`m new to bowhunting, but also new to bowshooting. Got a used cheap recurve I currently practice with, and a Hoyt Rampage at 50# with the Nap Apache drop away and Logix 5pin sight on it`s way. Hope to be able to hunt somewhere in the world next year, this year is practice practice practice Else; I live near the Pulpit Rock\Preikestolen , one of Norways most visited tourist-attraction. So if you (or others here at bowhunting.com) are planning a trip here, I`m happy to guide you up there Nice area for hiking and camping as well, some nice trouts if you know where to look and are into fishing as me
It's a shame that bowhunting is still not legal in Norway. Just read that bowhunters have the best success rate (lung/Heart shots vs. weid shots) in Denmark. That should be proof enough! But isn't "Predike Stolen" the famous base-jumping location? If you decide to go bowhunting in Denmark next year, then I might be able to help you find some affordable hunts, rather than buying an expensive package through an hunting-travel agencie
Almost right Lynx, a few has actually base-jumped from Preikestolen (and some without a paracute, I`m in the Norwegian People Aid so I`ve been searching for some of them ) The most famous base-jump spot is further in the same fjord as Preikestolen, a place called Kjerag. 1000m straight down in the fjord........I have only "dived" into it inside a helicopter and that was a big enough kick for me! As for the Denmark-trip; I might take your word on that one my friend! Just have to get my hand on a bowhunting-certificate for Denmark first, as I`m told that IBEP wont do there?
