Hubby and I are going scouting tomorrow in the area we plan to hunt for wild pig in a couple of weeks. We're still taking the bows with us tomorrow, just in case. This will be our first adventure out since we got them.

    Very excited! :woot:

    Well....

So, we scouted the south and south east side of Indian Valley Reservoir here in California, although it certainly wasn't very productive. We were so busy hiking and looking around that we failed to remember to take out the camera :(. The hike in wasn't so terrible, but the problem is the hike back was uphill most of the way . It took about an hour and 40 minutes in and about the same back. We saw very few signs of them - and the scat we happened across looked pretty old. Although there were several areas that appeared thoroughly rooted and we finally found some prints. A very tough hike for as little as we were able to find. We did managed to startle both ourselves and a smallish black tail deer in the process....

Hubby's double-thinking the area now, although we didn't scout all of it. Maybe another scouting trip next weekend to confirm.... He never imagined hunting would be so hard! LOL....

P.S. Putting in for a depradation pig hunt that will take place over 8 weekend March-April. Hopefully we'll get pulled!
