completely new

    im completely new to this one of my friends has been telling me about bowhunting but now he left the military so i got no one to teach me about it.
    i wanna know what is a good weight to start with and a few good beginer bows and what are the goods and bads to diff types of bows because i was thinking of going with a recurve

    Weight, style, comfort are all very personal in archery. I suggest finding a local proshop (not a big box store like Gander, Cabelas etc.) and shoot as many different bows there that you can. You'll find what you like best.

    Welcome! I have to agree with Fitz. Find a local archery shop and ask for assistance. Never be afraid to ask if you're unsure. It can save a lot of grief and heartache (not to mention bruises and scars)

    And dont overlook the "technical" forum. There's alot to be learned about the in's and out's of a bow there.

    welcome to the site, listen to what some of these guys have to say. plenty of knowledge floating around on this site. get into a pro shop, make friends with the guys and you will find your bow.
