I really want to start shooting traditional but I need some direction. Here are some quick facts to help you all figure out what I am shooting for (no pun intended) -I shoot a 28.5in 70# mathews z7x -I want to hunt whitetail and black bear with it -I am 6'2" and 200lbs -Never shot a traditional bow before -I love shooting and have access to practice a lot Any guidance here helps. I am quite familiar with compounds but this is all new to me. Thanks in advance!
Tradgang is good also Stickbow.com Got my first trad kill this year just a young buck but sure was fun.
1. Longbow or recurve? 2. 50# will work very well. Recommend trying before buying 3. Test shoot different bows. There is a difference. 4 What arrow material do you want to use Finding a bow that fits you is very important. more? woodsman
Just got an email blast about a 77% off archery sale going on so if you needed to browse and pick some stuff out for cheap that's probably the best place to do it, especially for traditional archery
get a take down bow, recurve or longbow doesnt matter, with 40# limbs give or take and learn with that then you can get heavier limbs later on if you want. but 40# is plenty for deer . the arrow is more important than the bow
