Does anybody have a dog that can find sheds? I wanna teach my German Shepherd to find sheds, hes absolutely full of energy so he'd do great running around all day. Any tips on teaching a dog to find sheds? Thanks.
praise and reward them when they fid one you planted......then go onto newly dropped shed. trai like a bir d ( Shed) dog Shepherds, Border Collie, and retievers will all work

i have one and he's just over 1. i started with getting the dvd from anter ridge when he was 3 months old and gave him three different size sheds to keep in the yard. He only plays with them when outside now and he tried to steal my skull cap from my buck this year. Lots of praise and love with even more understanding and time. Use this season to get him use to being out shed hunting and remember most dogs aren't truely trained for atleast 2 years just like bird dogs.
