Selfish SOB, bowhunting for brown bear and mountain goat before fulfilling your obligation to chase a 75" P&Y deer species for an online forum contest!

    The audacity!

So today I stalked down this creek hoping to run into him. As you can see it'd be a close shot.

While I was in one creek looking for him, he was in the next creek over looking for fish. We need to coordinate our schedules better.

This evening I did some calling and this is the only predator I was able to get to show up.

We're having a big dump of snow tonight. Tomorrow will have fresh tracks to hunt down...

The snow mixed with rain this morning and made everything a miserably sloppy mess. I still got in there early with another friend and we covered both creeks this time. Some slob hunters showed up late and came traipsing through my set-up with noisy snow shoes (in 5" of snow?!) and rubber ponchos. I could see them from 3/4 of a mile and hear them from 150 yards off after they went past me and followed my friend's tracks right in to his set busting his morning hunt too. I can't believe the inconsiderate nerve of some people!! They were even told by another friend of ours that ran into them in the parking lot that we were in there and what we were up to. I'm not one for crying foul but if any of you ever plan to come to Kodiak, stay clear of Fred O'Hearn with Lucky Hook Charters. He's got a bad reputation as a bear guide for pulling just this kind of BS. They were even in the same spot last year lobbing shots at a big bear from over 1000 yards, with a friend of mine between them and the bear!

Sorry for the vent. These type of "hunters" just torque me off.
