Hey guys, i just built a stand 12 ft off the ground, fully inclosed with windows and a door. Today is the first day we used it and my brother in law happened to walk by the trail that led to my blind, he said he could see the orange glow from the propane heater 100 yards away. Does anyone know if this glow will effect my hunting?

You're already in a shelter out of the elements and now you're wanting heat. Give me a break! :)

Why don't you guys just put some insulation in it or possibly put some metal container around the propane heater to manage the glow?

Do you have a recliner and flat screen in that thing too?? If it glows orange does that mean you have to still wear orange?

Try the Heater Buddy. I love mine. I use it in my box stand while rifle hunting when it gets around 28 to 32 degrees. I don't see the other guys remarks here as needed. I guess they think toughing the cold makes you tough. I could care less. If I want to be comfortable in my stand, its no one elses business.

thankyou, thats exactly how i feel. if they wanna freeze thats their problem. do u think the glow would keep the deer from coming around? I dont want to give up on the mr.heater i bought, simply because it cost me 40 bucks and i filled my propane tank for 25 bucks.

It will do the trick, and the glow (Which I have not noticed at all with mine) is not going to matter as long as you are not bobbing your head up and down in the window, or making noise in the stand.

Fenwood, if you don't want to give up on your new heater, then try to find something to manage the glow. Maybe get some sheet metal or something to put around it or maybe get a blind for your shooting window. Good luck.

Mr Heater is what I was gonna recommend. Don't think the glow will bother the deer.

ok good to know, as for making noise in the stand, thats a hard one to avoid being that it's like a big drum. I just finished it yesterday and didnt see one thing today, i'm wondering if the stand is spooking the deer and so i'm debating if i should sit in a different one for a day or two till the deer get used to it.
