I think you knew the answer to the question you were asking because you already knew the end resault. unless you are shooting at the ( bullseye ) with a 7mm mag kinda guy. nowone worth a pinch of salt would ever take that shot. sounds like you are looking for someone else to say they would just so you could feel better about the crapy shot you took. shame on you foreven bringing the topic up.
Dont be so hard on yourself. You dont have to remain a sheep, you can take some good advice and expand your horizons beyond the sheep pasture. Or, stay there.....up to you. But if you choose to stay a sheep, you should probably not post any further about it.
I'll shoot the F*kn deer in the eye!! LOL. No, straight down, or straight on shots ARE LOW percentage shots. Unless you have a 12ga. but that's a different forum. My two cents. ~i would never shoot a deer in the eye.~ that was a joke. for any tree-huggers who want to take my post out of context and use it for evil, please don't.
Im a pretty young hunter and had the chance to shoot a buck this year from 36 yds on the ground. the deer was facing me and i took the shot hit him in the chest and burried the arrow into the vitals and he dropped and died faster then ive ever seen a deer die...i thought it wasnt a bad shot (broadside shot has open vitals - straight through the chest has the same open vitals) everyone else told me it was a bad shot and i shouldnt have done it idk why but i wont try it again i figured that the arrow is going the same place it would if i shot broadside so why not
I always wondered why this wasn't a good shot either. From the tree, i can see why not, but from the ground you do have a lot of room for error and there are alot of vitals in there wether you go high, low, or side to side. I have the deer and deer hunting shot simulator and it gives me even more faith in this shot. My favorite shot with a gun is slightly quartering straight on. Dropped several deer like this. Goes right through lungs, heart, and doesnt even hti the guts. Never had one run more than 20 yards doing this.
everyone says not to take it so i wont anymore but i also wonder...ive done it once with a bow and once with a gun
