I agree. Selfish part of me almost wants them to come back to St. Louis up 3-2, so I can see them clinch it for Game 6 lol. I won't be too upset though if they happen to take it in 5. Texas is a dangerous team though. They can turn around and win the next 2 games as easily as the Cards could.
Who ya got for Game 4? I think the Rangers even things up. They know the importance of winning this game, and I think Jackson is going to give up some long balls.
A game dominated by pitching is the last thing I would of guessed. Holland is on a roll, and Jackson has settled down after the first.
Well that game sure took a turn for the worse. Just goes to show you how bad walks can come back to hurt you. Not over yet, but I'm basically writing this one off. Gotta win the next one, then just take one of two at home.
Got to give credit to Holland. He pitched a hell of a ballgame. Whoever wins tomorrow, wins the series IMO. Good thing we got Carp going.
Not sure I agree. It's the first to win 4 games. I do like the fact that Chris is back on the mound tonight. We were definitely dominated off the mound last night. That was a game won by pitching.
I'm just saying it will be extremely difficult for either team to come into St. Louis and win 2 in a row. Garcia in game 6 is fine, but they are going to have to go with either Lohse or Westbrook for Game 7.
Just like game 3. Both teams having off pitching staff, and giving up lots of runs. I am feeling good about Carpenter pitching tonight.
Holliday is not earning his paycheck so far in this game. With him pounding the ball into the dirt every at bat, they have no fear of walking Pujols.
Can't win games stranding that many runners. Also can't win when you're running into outs. That hit and run in the 9th was TERRIBLE. You need to take your chances that you hit into a double play, not try to avoid it there. With the lineup we have, and the situation we were in, we needed to take the risk of hitting into one, not running into one. Cards' backs are against the wall now. I think the series is over, I just don't see them winning two games in a row right now, even at home. We'll see though I guess. Tough loss for sure.
Rangers up 3-2 I think we'll take game 6, which is what I predicted. Napoli is the MVP a of right now IMO
The Rangers have all the momentum. The Cards have had their backs against the wall all season, so who knows what will happen. My guess is Rangers in 7.
Saw a statistic someone posted on facebook today (don't know if it's true, haven't bothered looking it up), but the Cards are 4-1 on World Series titles when they've been down in the series 3-2. Pretty interesting there, although it doesn't have an effect on this year's team, I found it pretty interesting showing that we still have some hope I guess. I still think it's over though, but hell, to me their season was over in August :D
Pray for rain Cardinal fans. If tomorrow game is rained out, then Game 6 will be pushed back to Thursday, and if there is a Game 7 it will be played Friday. If this happens, Carpenter will be starting Game 7 on 3 days rest. Despite the disaster that was Game 5, I like our chances with Garcia on the mound at home. The crappy, cold weather will play into the hands of the pitchers again, and they way the Birds swung the bats the last 2 nights, that will probably help them.
It's Ranger Day here at work. About 75 of our 200 employees are where rangers shirts, hats, etc. Pretty cool It may all end tonight, or we may see a rain delay or another game. Whatever the case it's going to be a nail bitter GO RANGERS!!!!
