I was wondering... how many of you actually call when in the stand?

I do. Bleats and grunts. I use them sparringly.

Rattle and grunt when I'm out. Not very often at all. My intention is to get them curious. Doesn't always work. I do most of the rattling when I'm bored. Right now I don't hit them too hard. Just started doing this the past few years.

X2 on the Primo's can. I'll send out 4,5,6 bleats every 15 minutes or so and toss in a few grunts as well. My last "great big can" took a dump so i just today picked up a new one and will be giving it a run tomorrow morning :)

Havent had much luck with the Can, seems rattling attracts small bucks around these woods but sometimes that can be good if big boy is on his trail. Grunt is my fav. Couple quck hits and then a long one about every 45 to 1hr.

I usually will hunt for a little while, then if I'm not having any luck, I'll pull out the rattling horns and the grunt. It never hurts!

The majority of bucks I've killed came into a grunt or contact call after I made visual to them and a few where I simply heard them back in the brush and called them in to take a look at them, some I've called back after shots (Right PT, plus my own) ... I've called in bucks from hundreds of yards away as they were walking away... deer calls don't always work... but when they do it's like reeling them in.

I used a snort wheeze for the first time this weekend. Saw a deer standing in a field by itself, about 2-300 yards away. It looked big enough to be a buck. It was north of me, walking west, and had just stopped walking and stood there. I threw out the snort-wheeze and he turned straight toward me and started running. Then he instantly turned east and ran back toward the woods. At that moment, I spotted a little doe that had blended into the background of the field due to coloring. She was running into the woods and he chased her. Guess the snort-wheeze spooked her, but he was definitely interested till she ran for the woods.

I've also bleated in does before, but never bucks.
