Hello everyone I am part of an EDD engineering group with our project on attempting to better the design the trackable arrow. If you can take a couple minutes to fill out this survey (link below) it'd be most appreciated.

Tried to help but it seems this link takes me to the survey building web site and not to your particular survey. Repost a working link and I will take the survey.

Interesting concept. The only time I'd really need to find an arrow would be if it was still in a deer.

I agree, how many arrows get lost, vs the cost of this tracking arrow. If the tracking arrow is the same price as the arrows I shoot now, I'd still be hesitant to buy them.

New high speed bows = More pass thru's. Now a arrow that embeds a tracking device inside the deer, I'd buy it. :tu:

That's exactly what I said on the survey. I also said I wouldn't be willing to pay more for this tracking device than my arrow/broadhead/luminok cost. Just doesn't make sense to cost more. That would be like buying a warranty that costs more than the item you are buying the warranty for.

Would there be any legality issues with a tracking device potentially being inside an animal that you shoot?

In some states such a tracking device would be illegal. Just think, some states don't allow Luminoks. Do you think they would allow and RFID chip that gets implanted in the deer when your arrow passes through?

Not going to work....if you design the nock to attatch to the animal it might! Most arrows go through! IMO! GPS tracking device needs to be on the nock!

I don't know how you'd design a nock that latched on to an animal that wouldn't latch on to containment style rests. Not to mention that a lot of people like using luminated nocks, and having a nock that stayed in the deer would eliminate that possibility. Luminated nocks solved a problem, that being: How do you find an arrow easier, after shooting it at an animal. What problem is this product meant to solve? How to track deer after a less than optimal shot? Sounds like a band-aid instead of a solution. I can hear someone now, "Who cares if the shot isn't great, with the gps arrow you can find them no matter what."

I believe that an application may exists for DNR!
Not with a pass thru but some sort of tip that releases on an animal for research etc.
    Could be done!
    Could have a purpose!
Now, put a GPS tag on a treestand!

How about a tazer head instead. The deer gets a serious shock when struck and I can run over and finish it off while it's stunned. JK

In terms of use for DNR you need an arrow tipped with an auto injector type tip that can hold a tracking device like the ones used in pets currently. Upon impact the injector fires the GPS device into the deer.

Hunting application the GPS is included in the broadhead maybe in a blade or the like and "breaks off" the tip and stays in the deer. The real challenge would be making the GPS device re-attachable so as to be able to use the head and locator again and again offsetting the cost.

You can just write a check for 10% of all sales. Your welcome.

What about FOBs that have the tracker imbedded in them and attach with small barbs, similar to fish hooks, instead of falling to the ground?
