DC hey gutshotem hows the hunting out by DC? my girlfriend goes to medical school with the airforce and lives in bethesda and if it all works out im moving out there next december ! Prolly way differnt from how spoiled i am here in the midwest.
Congrats to everyone on their success this year so far. I will be taking a break this weekend from Deer Hunting. Duck season opens Saturday and was lucky enough to be drawn to hunt the Ottawa National Wildlife Reserve up on Lake Erie for 2 days.
I'll be back out saturday most of the day, after warmer temps, sounds like it should cool off a little after this rain front pushes through. I have a couple spots I haven't been able too hunt yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the right winds!
If you can get on private land, it's awesome, but thats far from easy to do. I just came down here a few years ago and honestly still kinda rely on hunting my family farm back in pa. The public land gets hit hard down here but I'm def learning more every year. I just found a site called maryland whitetails.com this week and it seems like it has a lot of good info. As good as it can be though, your def gonna miss the midwest.
I didn't get out this wkend. Had some things around the house that I needed to get done. Anyone else have any luck?
Well gents - added a 50 spot to the team score this weekend. Anchored a nice doe on Saturday morning. Now it's time to go into full on Buck Patrol mode.
Awesome! Went out after work for 3 hours tonight. Today was opening day. Things were just starting to get cooking when the sun set then 1/2 hour passed in 2 seconds. Hoping to fill a tag tomorrow.
sweet work justin - congrats on the doe! been busy finishing up some projects at home so that when sweet november rolls I can spend as much time as possible out in the woods... also still a lot of crops out in the field yet too - been very dry but farmers seem to be taking there time...
Skunk boy checking in! Went out Saturday for my first morning hunt. Sat by one of 3 bedding areas I've found. Didn't see anything but atleast I know where they arent! Put in 9 hours and had to pack up. I'll be out most nights after work this week hunting around some of the food sources I've found.
Tomorrow night and saturday are looking very good here in MA. Found a nice new tree stand location and its getting tons of action in the evening.
think things should be starting to pick up.... saw a small buck in town this AM checking out some thickets...
Im really chomping at the bit here. leavin for kansas tom afternoon and still have to go work 3-11 tonight. Good luck to everyone going out tom morning. Ill be packing and doin a few house chores before I take off.
