This movement is spreading across America and it really irks me what I keep hearing over and over on TV. These lazy liberals are saying repeatedly "1% of the population is controlling 99% of the money" and they want it changed. The way they make it sound, they expect the wealthy to just start sharing. Whatever happened to earning your keep and making your own way in life? I posted this response on a newspaper website and was chastised a couple days later and then the post was removed.

This movement sounds just like another I read in history.....Oh yeah! The Boleshevik Revolution led by Lenin.

It really pizzes me off when I get taxes taken out of my check every two weeks, to subsidize some pathetic excuse for a human being who has no motivation or inclination to GET A JOB!!! And crying and complaining about banks holding debt . . . Did they borrow the money? Whose fault is it that they took out $175,000 worth of college loans to get that philosophy degree, and now have no marketable skills? Hmmmm, let me think about that one for a minute.

So long as over 45% of the households in this country get some form of government assistance, I don't expect the situation to get better. Maybe if these people had some skin in the game (rather than sitting on their butts waiting for the next check from the Nanny State), they would see things a little bit differently.

The first thing I think of when I hear these A-holes doing this stuff is "don't they have jobs to go to?" How do these get to spend the week picketing. Who is paying their rent?

There is way too much noise coming from the top about people not paying their fair share and I know it's a "talking point" but it's simply class warfare that orginated from socialism and poeple are too nieve to know better.

We were coming out of the colts game yesterday and a group of about 25-30 came walking down the road, holding signs and cheering. I know why they're upset and can't find work, but for starters, how about you lose the pink mohawk, put on some normal clothes, and remove all the metal from your face. These people are upset all the money is at the top, however I just got out of the game where I had some pretty sweet tickets (with the 1%'ers) and there wasn't anyone around me that looked like them.

I'm all for helping the needy, but this entitlement stuff has to go. These people aren't needy, they're lazy and spoiled. I know people who are needy, a girlfriend of mine, probably one of the best people I know, has 4 kids and no longer a husband (he wasn't a good guy) and doesn't pay support. Does she need, heck yes, does she ask for handouts, heck no (though we still help occasionally). What did she do, she laced up her boots, got a full time job and went back to school for her nursing degree, a full time mom, student, and employee. I know she didn't go to the occupy Indianapolis, why, cause she was at work or with her kids.

As far as the 1% at the top having all the money. They don't have it hidden under their mattress, it's out there invested in other businesses to help them grow and they buy a lot of stuff and hire a lot of people to take care of all their stuff. They own a few homes which they pay major property taxes on and hire help to take care of it. They go out to eat a lot and buy new cars every few years. Their money is not just sitting there, it's what moving our country forward and it's why our little country is THE world power. IMO

Here in Central Illinois, one of the Section 8 Public Housing Complexes was renovating - planned to take 6-8 months, so the residents had to move. Public Housing will pay their rent at a new place, pay all moving expenses, and pay a portion of the utilities equal to the pro rata share of the former apartment (the old Section 8 apartments were not separately metered, so the management paid all utilities). About a month before the date to vacate the old apartments, there was a mass protest at the Public Housing office (in the middle of the day - what, no JOB??) wherein the residents complained that Public Housing was not HELPING THEM ENOUGH!!!!!

I dunno.. doesn't sound all that terrible to me.

    Remember our American Revolution?

What's happening out there is much deeper than just class warfare.. it goes without saying that a lot of people are being ripped off... including probably everyone reading this as well.

People bash socialism like it's the worst thing ever (and I agree its pretty bad)... but the opposite of which is equally dangerous.. federalism.

I find it fascinating how people blame the poor.. the teachers.. the Jones' who bought the big house up the street before having it taken away - for all the American economic problems we have today.

Perhaps it is time we look at Mr. Smith who approved the loan in the first place.. so he could get an even bigger paycheck. Perhaps the poor really do have something to grip about since most of life is not what you know.. but who you know instead. Perhaps the problem with education isn't the teachers.. but rather those who distribute the money for the school systems.

    Perhaps.

I just think it's funny how some leftists go protest and the media talks about how it's their right to, but when some conservatives do it they are construed as racists and bigots...

The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act helped open the doors to this mess. Folks on both sides of the isle need a serious sack punch for that act of genius.

Very well said, there are much deeper issues with our economy, education system and our government.

Blaming the poor, teachers and others for our problems is a joke. Thinking giving a company like apple a tax break and they are all of sudden going to build IPones here in the US is crazy.

Why we let big corps run the show is beyond me, small business is where most people work in this country and they are getting hosed.

Here is a line from Jon Stewart. "how much wealth do they have to absorb before they make it rain"

I'm all for our right to protest and free speech but lets at least have an agenda and a plan before you do so. I saw a report this weekend that couldn't make heads or tails of what this movement was about after talking with several protest leaders, there is no central focus. Ok so 1% of population hold most of the wealth, welcome to the last 2000 years. This is nothing new and won't change, even in socialist countries it is that way.

Why attack Wall Street when the real crooks work in DC, until Washington is changed nothing else will change. We are right back where the revelutionists were when they decided enough was enough. Politicians growing fat on kick backs from those growing fatter on their legislation. WE THE PEOPLE, need to matter again.

I'm not sure I understand your thinking in the first paragraph? So it's okay because it has always been that way?

For the second paragraph.. wall street and the government are intertwined. They are as crooked as the politicians because they hold the real power at the ballot... your ballot.

In 1961.. President Dwight Eisenhower warned this:

"A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction...
This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together."

His warning was for the corporate world's involvement in politics and the poison it would breed. He saw it first hand during WW2 while in control of the allied forces.. only to see it carry over into his presidency.

Since that war.. and corporate involvement into politics America has been in costly war after costly war in the name of corporate dollar. All paid for of course by the almighty American tax dollar.

Eisenhower warned us 50 years ago.

And no.. I am not a liberal.. actually I was formerly a moderate Republican.. recently I've switched to just plain ole' American who formally expresses his hatred of the governing bodies as a whole whether democrat or republican. Since.. they all campaign with the corporate dollar anyway and must eventually pay it off with legislation.

Legislation that doesn't benefit me or you.. only them and those that got them elected.

    Viva La Revolution!
