I have plans for a hang on hunting tree stand you can purchase for $10. The cost to build the stands are under $10 as well. You could build 5 stands for $50. It takes about an hour to build one and there is no welding involved. visit http://www.trytobuildthis.com
    for more information.

You could make those alot lighter by using wood that has termite damage! I'm sure you could shed off a few pounds then! Would never sit in that stand!

I wouldn't trust that thing to support me 20+ feet in the air. Just what I want to do on a weekend, play a tree stand version of Russian roulette.

I believe you get what you pay for.

If we were going to use wood, we'd build a permanant stand with 2x6s and such. :)

What about the tree steps? Cut 3 inch blocks and nail 1 8 penny nail into it right?

I'll say the same thing that I say to people building their own out of steel. Leave the treestand making to people that make treestands, it's too important not to.

What? If it did hold me, I couldn't sit in it. There is no way my butt would last 5 minutes in that thing. Sorry man. May want to rethink your business ventures. There may be some law suites in your future.

You could always use dental floss as your safety harness tether

Can't believe that anyone would think this is a good idea. This has lawsuit written all over it for sure! I love my kids and family so I will stick with my LoneWolf's!

Why doesn't a MOD just delete this thread. It's stupid and pointless.

Kinda like letting my wife lift me up in the front end loader to practice shooting from a tree stand; and I trust her.
