what is the best bh for a crossbow? i just got a crossbow and wondering what kind of bh i should use its shooting 315 fps!
Check out slick tricks website. They have a pretty intense looking crossbow bh on there that looks like it would do some serious damage.
Took the words out of my mouth. And gutone, you can return those two that failed the spin test, and they will replace them.
I had G5 Montecs in hand today. Asked all my coworkers and the guy who fixes our bows. They all love Muzzy's for blade replacement and closer patterns. So, I went with Muzzy's 3 blade. Pretty excited to set them up and use them. I'm a new hunter but what i hear is that you can't really go wrong with both those fixed blades.
Any broadhead will hit with a FP if your bow is tuned. Use this guide for assistance. http://www.eastonarchery.com/pdf/tuning_guide.pdf
I like my Magnus Buzzcuts. Before elk season I was shooting out to 65 yards and they flew like bullets. But like others have said you could probably get similar results with most of todays broadheads out of a properly tuned bow.
I have both the grizz tricks (1 1/4 slick tricks) and the Montecs. I prefer the GrizzTricks. You get a larger cutting surface and they fly identically to my field points. Just ask the 3 fletching and 4 blades that were destroyed in testing at 50 yards. The montecs are great too. I like their tip much better than the grizztricks, however they weren't quite as tight of a group. I'm going to continue to practice with them to make sure it wasn't mental. However, as GABowhunter has stated, many times, and rightfully so, if your bow isn't properly tuned, it doesn't matter what broadhead you put on there, it just won't be right. As it stands now, I shoot a field point, a mechanical, and a fixed and they all 3 are grouped together, to 50 yards and beyond.
