My bad for no pictures.... I bowhunted for deer back in the 80's. I joined the military and let bowhunting drop...I hunted with firearms and then in about 2000 I basically stopped deer hunting and spent my outside time flyfishing or Turkey hunting. Then in about 08 my hunting partner got into bowhunting and I was amazed at how the newe gear worked...so I got back into it. It has been a real lesson....this is my 4th season...the last three, I've had numerous opportunities that got past me for one reason or another.... So yesterday at high noon....my moon calender said they would be moving between 11 and 1... so I got in my stand at 10:30. At noon here she came eating acorns like a vacum cleaner...I stood up early (correcting past mistakes).....when she got to about 50, I drew..(correcting past mistakes)....I concentrated on relaxing my grip (correcting past mistakes)....when she got to my spot I aimed and released and WHACCK.....First deer with a bow since the 80's. Unfortunately the WHACK was a spine shot..so I had to deal with that....but 20 minutes later she was in the truck on the way to the processor. Next hunt I'll have my camera. SB happy boy
Cograts. I've been bow hunting for 40 years, and to this day, I still get excited and pumped when i shoot a deer with my bow. I get just as excited shooting doe's as I do bucks. What an awsome hobby. Good luck.
Hey congrats...I am in about the same boat...hadn't archery season hunted since 1995...Sunday I took my first archery season buck.
