Beer makes me pee. Peeing is movement, and can be cold. I don't like to pee out of my stand.

How do you fit a cooler up in your stand anyways?

In GA hunting under the influence does not mean under the legal limit, otherwise it would have stated "under the legal limit" instead and it would have not included drugs with alcohol.

Threads like this is why I avoid public land once rifle season opens.

One of the most ridiculous threads I've ever come across. With his current thinking, I'm curious to see how long he stays around here.

We dont have many rules at our hunting camp, but one of the rules and the first one guys are told about is if you drink during the day, your hunt for that day is over. We have a few after but none during. My cousin who used to hunt with us would get so drunk while hunting he could barely stand up, so he is not allowed to hunt with us anymore and the rest of the guys agreed no alcohol until after the hunt.

I got an idea thats going to make me rich! I'm going to build a mount that goes on your bow that is a plastic koozy to hold your beer while you shoot. I'm taking orders who wants one or ten?

Just kidding for the record I think its a horrible idea to hunt while drinking for lots of reasons.

    1. Alcohol and lethal weapons do not mix well
    2. The smell - doubt deer come to the smell of beer
    3. If you have just one to many and put a bad shot on an animal because you were slightly impaired (I know some of you are macho men and can hold your liqour and drink anyone under the table, chill)
    4. It makes you have to pee, alot ( I don't even bring coffee cause it makes me pee more)

I'm sure there a tons more reasons and this is coming from someone that drinks quite a bit but not while hunting, now during brandings thats a whole nother story bout lost my thumb because of it bad idea

Like many others, I do love a cold beer but never while I'm in the stand. Always afterwards sitting around the fire, playing cards or, grilling up some meat. I've got a 17 yr old son and for me to do that would be irresponsible as well as not doing a good job of leading by example. Never in the stand. However, I'm not gonna slam on you guys that do.

    Judge, lest you be judged...

That being said, I hope you're all wearing your harnesses, stay safe my fellow bow hunting brothers and sisters, lets make it back to tell our stories.

Really...?? Why dont we give the Anti's even more ammunition?

I got a little pissed when I first heard the song "Drinkin Beer and Wastin Bullets" (or whatever it is), because this is something that does not have to be associated with hunting!

We wonder WHY Anti's are the way they are, lets face it sometimes WE(as in sportsman) bring it on ourselves!

Dont get me wrong I have nothing wrong with having a few adult sports drinks, but NEVER while on stand!

I can honestly say no. I do not drink alcohol, ever, at all. In my opinion drinking and driving is as irresponsible as drinking and hunting (any amount).

    1) i dont need to lug the extra weight when im hiking with a stand on my back
    2) i dont need to make bowhunting any more fun then it already is
    3) I dont suspect that it would help my chances, and if it doesnt help, it probably hurts my chances whatever it is
    4) do yer thing man, it's not breaking my leg or picking my pocket... just not for me

I guess my point is that sometimes when I'm reading replies on any forum I feel people are giving the answers they think they should or the pc answer and not necessarily answers that are 100% real.

I only drink heavily on morning hunts. That way I can sober up as the day goes on so that I'll be sober enough to drive. Drinking and driving is just wrong.
