Me and buddy going out today to the stand to cut a couple more lanes and hang one last stand for videoing. Hope my food plots looking good if so ill post a pic, but on the other hand its just a great day to be out on the four wheelers down on the river! Good luck everyone this season and lets win this deal!
I finally got a picture of a buck worth looking for. I am gonna go check my cams again this weekend and hope to find something good.
Nice pics. It's good to see them up and moving during daylight. That will definity increase your chances for success. Good luck.
happy fall everyone !!! the officical countdown has started for us here in indiana! thinking about taking my son on the youth hunt this year just to get an early start to the action!!!
may be in a amazing spot where i had 5 or 6 130-140 bucks show up last year......tons of sign....maybe tommorow
Well, I had an interesting set last night. I didn't see any of the big boys running around, but I had a neat encounter w. a very nice 1 1/2 year old. I purchased a new cover scent yesterday called "Final Step(cedar)." At about 7:15, I picked the buck up at about 50 yards, walking on a mowed path that goes in front of another stand. I had walked in on that path, then cut straight up the hill to the stand I was sitting. That buck hit my trail, and took a hard left and walked right up the same path I took. He ended up standing broadside at 18 yards when he caught a wiff of something he wasn't sure about, and then noticed me up in the tree. He stared me down for over 10 minutes without moving. Finally, he just walked off. It was a pretty cool encounter. It was the right situation, but the wrong deer. I'm looking forward to sitting over my food plot saturday morning and seeing what happens.
nice!! I just hung my stand for tommorow morning over a feeder....gonna hopefully get a doe or a nice buck
waiting impatiently for saturday as well!!!! still decideing where to sit...if you guys had to choose would it be in a willow tree next to corn and 2 crabapple trees orin the woods next to swamp and alfafa and corn or would would you sit in the nose bleed over looking soy???? what would you guys go for
Was in Wisconsin this past weekend, a decent forecast turned into rain all weekend. Did hunt all but Sunday night since it was pouring, saw a total of three deer on stand, did get a trail camera video of a 3-1/2 year old 130 class nine, but he'll get one more year. No big bucks showing up yet but the property I have is usually home to doe groups and the bucks begin showing up mid October. Michigan opens this weekend, see what I can get onto here. Good luck on the starts of your seasons!
That is the exact same for me....boys show up lookin for love in october then just stay throughout the season and i normally get my buck around early october mid november.....Does though... anytime!!!
So far I have had 10 bucks within bow range. Most have been young and are getting a pass. I had a nice big 8 sneak in on me, and got a glimps at a real nice one, but he didn't ever give me a good look. Here''s a couple pics I was able to squeeze off w. my phone.
