Welcome, Andy. I figured you would show up eventually. Looks like a great buck. I know we would love to see you behind him. Good luck!
How about this for an avatar? How about some info on where you guys are hunting and when your seasons are starting? We open here on October 1st. I'll be in the woods at my parents place for most of the season, but I did add a LW assault climber this season, so I may be hitting my cabin land a bit more as well. Not sure what the season holds as I've been running one trail cam with tons of doe and turkey, but no shooter bucks. As long as the 1.5 and 2.5yr olds I was seeing last season made it through, I should have a good late October and early November, but the early season may be different.
Early bow season in the Adirondacks starts for me on Sept. 27th. I'll be hunting it on private land that is straight up thick. A 40 yard shot with gun or bow is a long shot up there. I plan on hunting a mix of northern and southern zone NY over the course of the season. Southern zone bow season opens on Oct. 15th. I don't yet have any thing big on my trail cams in the Adirondacks, just one spike, a 4, a 5, and a 6. So a total of 4 bucks haha. There are big deer up there, but they're really spread out and difficult to hunt. I caught a blurry picture of a big 8 or 10 last year and I'm hoping he survived the season and the brutal winter. I'll be scouting until the season opens and will hopefully find something bigger lurking in the woods. But with thick woods, little forage and lots of land, its tough hunting. By the way, the avatar looks good, except the hunter is definitely going to shoot above that buck
Guys my hit list of bucks for Saturday just got shortened. Very dissapointed! http://s1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd468/scooters3/?action=view¤t=dadsouth015.mp4
No still have bigger 10 and 16 from last yr if he still around. here is a vid of a 10 in one of my plots. http://s1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd468/scooters3/?action=view¤t=10ptfeeding.mp4
How's it going everyone. Sorry for the delay in checking in, been a hectic Summer and while these crisp mornings have deer season dancing through my head I haven't had much time. Had a mishap on my 4 wheeler this past weekend so I'm a bit gimped up, but should be good to go come Oct. 1st, weather permitting. I'll primarily be hunting in Morgan County, IL on private land but hope to get a little more time in on public land this year. While I didn't have a lot of luck last year on the antlers with the bow, I'm hoping for a little luck this season. Crops shouldn't be a problem here in central IL, we're in a moderate drought so a lot of fields are coming down early. I'll be putting 50 points on the board at first opportunity, and then I'll be hoping to see this guy again within range this time. Hope he's still around anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy6DM13e7ds I'll have the camera on the bow again this year and hope to get one down. I'm a meat hunter first but have the patience to let the younger ones walk. 2 weeks from now I'll be packed up and awaiting that 4am alarm tone. Good luck to everyone and looking forward to sharing the season.
Sorry team 7 I shot a doe today or should I nub. I forgot to take a picture was in a hurry because of the warm weather and wanted to get back in the woods before 5 and just forgot.
No worries, it's just contest for fun. Any bonus tags in your area? On a side note, looks like we're still missing a few members. I need to check to see if any alternates have been added.
Hi guys! Checking in from OHIO! Our farm is directly accross the street from where the Beatty buck was killed. We have some unbelievable bucks running around. I was just informed that I am assigned to Team 7. Look forward to sharing some stories with all of you! Rick
