Well, i've tried a few releases(tru-fire, cobra, and 1 scott) non of which i really cared for. I am yet to try a hand release so that might be my next try... Just wondering what all you use and like best.

    Thanks

    I shoot a tru-fire and a scott s-horn single hook
I think the single hook releases a bit smoother than a double caliper

I love this old release. One of the big reasons is that you can switch the trigger direction. I have mine so that you push forward with your thumb, which is most comfortable for me.

Im affraid to use a hand release. i would drop it. I shoot a cheap cobra strap and Im finding it is losing its smoothness over the seasons. I think Ill be upgrading as well. Let us know what you end up with

For thumb releases, I don't think your can beat Stan releases, www.ishootastan.com. a little pricey, but worth it to me. I have two, the Shootoff! And the black pearl, both great releases, but not geared towards hunting as much as target. And for a wrist strap I have a fuse clinch single caliper. I like it, smooth and quiet. The stans I have are pretty loud, you get a definite loud click at the release, but they are amazing for boosting accuracy. Let us know what you decide on.

I am picking up my bow from the shop Friday wit new strings and gonna get sighted in with a new 4 finger release I just got. Haven't used it yet but excited to try it out. Only gonna give a few days to decide if I am gonna stick with it this season or go back to my old release.

Can't beat tru fire IMO. I currently shoot an Edge 4 thumb release, if you don't like the idea of a thumb release I would reccommend the Hardcore hook release from tru fire.

I love to film my hunts by myself so I am hoping that I really like it so it frees up my hands to run the camera till I need the release to lay the smack down!! Everything I have heard about it is good so I am fully expecting to like it!

Hand release would not be my first choice, but when you're married with two young children, you make do.

Well, I shoot a Scott Sabretooth and it's been a fantastic release for four years. Now, however, I've seen two different instances on the web where that very release failed (as in it came apart). It's got me worried enough that I'm considering changing.

I am sure that is two cases out of several thousands of those releases sold. I would however check that thing over with a magnifying glass and make sure you don't see anything that could possibly go wrong.

That's what I was thinking, but since I'm packing for the weekend opener, that's just what I did last night. It looks as good as new. Just to be on the safe side I'll be throwing my son's release in my pack as a back-up. He's in EOD school and won't get to hunt until December, so he won't miss it. :tu:

Smart move. I always have a backup with me. Kee one in my pack. If I drop it from the tree putting it on or for any reason I have a spare in my pack.

Had some nasty target panic which was causing me to punch the trigger on my Scott Mongoose. I switched to a Tru Ball Pro Diamond and I love it!
